Looking at 2019 in My Rear-view Mirror
I’m thankful for this past year. I’ve had some great experiences. I’ve shared many of them with you on Facebook and Instagram.
Though I’ve had these great adventures, behind the posts and pictures it’s been a rough year for me. My five-year marriage ended. We had some wonderful times together, but we couldn’t make our relationship work. So, I’m going forward.
I packed up and moved from Alabama back to Georgia. I’m establishing my travel business here in the Atlanta area by plugging into local business networks and investing my time on improving my travel destination knowledge. I’m going forward.
Over this last year, I’ve traveled to seven countries - the Dominican Republic, France, Greece, Italy, Mexico, Monaco, and Spain. I toured over 20 all-inclusive resorts in Mexico. These tours or “site inspections” allow me to walk the resorts and see them first-hand so I can make knowledgeable recommendations and advise you on these destinations.
On one of the first-hand experiences in 2019, I sailed on a Mediterranean cruise onboard the Crystal Serenity, one of the ships in Crystal Cruises’ fleet.
On this luxury cruise liner, I enjoyed the most delicious food, top-quality entertainment, and wonderful service. The cruise began in the ancient city of Athens, where I climbed up to the Acropolis and viewed the entire city from the Parthenon. Definitely make sure you see the changing of the guards at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in front of the Parliament building. The Honor Guard marches like nothing I’ve ever seen - high steps and slow motion. The first city was just the tip of the iceberg of all the wonderful places we would see.
Santorini, Stromboli Volcano Island, Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast, Rome, Florence, Pisa, Piombino, Monte Carlo, Nice, Marseille, and Barcelona. Every port delivered an A+ experience. We went on shore excursions offered by Crystal Cruises, as well as, on excursions from Shore Excursions Group and Project Expedition. The non-cruise line companies’ excursions impressed me very much. The tour guides were super! Roberto with Tours & Tickets (#livelikealocal) did an exceptional job sharing great sights along the Amalfi Coast.
